The final design is a celebration of timber, showcasing outstanding structural qualities and natural beauty.
Bryce Residence’s structural timber elements have been left exposed within the interior living spaces, creating an appreciation and connection to the home’s unique composition.
Further timber selections, such as the hoop pine plywood, recycled tallow wood shiplap cladding and recycled blackbutt flooring, complete the home’s material palette, providing an outcome that is respectful of the local neighbourhood character.
MET construction ensures a lasting and resilient structure, minimising the use of steel in response to the corrosive salt-air environment of the adjacent coastline. The home's timber structure and interior living spaces utilise a combination of cross laminated timber (CLT) and glue-laminated timber (GLT), made from Australian-grown plantation pine.
