The external cladding has been completed, allowing the builders to focus on the interiors and pool area next to the river. The client chose Tallowwood for the exterior, with the shingles, soffit, and external cladding made of copper.
The glulam timber on the property is made of Spotted Gum, while the cross-laminated timber consists of Australian Pine. Each floor is customised to match and respect what remains of the existing structure.
On level one, the walls and ceilings are made of New Guinea Rosewood, providing a rich and warm space.
Level two consists of pine floors and ceiling, to match the existing structure. The flooring is made of recycled Jarrah, an Australian hardwood that is locally and ethically sourced.
The external windows and doors use Kwila (Merbau) for its natural oils that enhance the durability of the timber. Windows and doors inside the home use New Guinea Rosewood to compliment the aesthetic of the space.
